One word to describe him: Christ-Follower
Randy knows in his heart that he was born to be a Pastor. After originally going to school to be a teacher, Randy’s first job after college was a youth pastor. Through talking with mentors and many hours of prayer, he decided to go to seminary. Over his 15 years in ministry he has worked in many different capacities, serving as a youth pastor, volunteering, and is now a pastor in the Methodist Church.
To Randy, inclusion means that everyone is looked at as a valuable member of society, regardless of race, gender, or ability. He states that for him, empowerment is “the ability to be me.” He recalls that one of the times he felt most empowered was when he and Jeff Cooney rode their bikes on the stage of the 1994 Easterseals Telethon after doing a 200 mile bike ride. Because doctors told his family that he would never walk or talk, this accomplishment meant a lot to him and the memory will stay with him forever.
Randy said that he thanks God for Easterseals every day. He is thankful for the attitude that Easterseals and his parents gave him.
Because of Randy’s kind and giving spirit, he changes the lives of people every day through his calling.
