Blessing’s Story

One word to describe her: Joyous

Blessing enjoys creating art with crayons, paints and papercraft. She has a big pile of dolls and stuffed animals on her bed that she loves to play with, and she especially enjoys braiding her dolls’ hair. She likes to be outside and on the trampoline with her siblings. She has a wonderful sense of humor, and she often floors her family with funny zingers that come up out of the blue. It is her dream for the future to move more freely on her own.

To Blessing’s family, inclusion means journeying together, as a family, celebrating the uniqueness of each member. For them, empowerment means each of them finding the things they need to flourish, together. Blessing felt truly empowered when her school peers chose her to ride on a homecoming parade float as the Candy Queen.
